The Tiger is Back

There seems to be minimal reason for any of us to worry about Tiger Woods this year. Woods is heading into the U.S. Open looking like a million bucks. His decisive victory last weekend makes him the man to watch.
Tearing away from a four way tie Sunday with the last two holes being birdies, his victory was nothing if not decisive.
The folks with all the questions about Tigers ability to defend his title at Bethpage Black are most likely silent this week, after Woods revved both his game and the crowds watching him with a serious comeback from a four shot deficit.
Missing not a single fairway in the last rounds Tiger played better than we've seen him in months. This was in fact his most accurate tournament game right from the tee since the Masters of 98.
Tiger is back, bigger and better and seems to be our best bet for a winner, making him a back to back winner for the first time in more than twenty years, if he stays true to form in Bethpage.
Woods is literally looking like the odds on favorite and the man to beat this year. He won the Memorial for a fourth time, coming back after eight months off for knee surgery. Woods thinks he will only continue to get better. “I knew it was coming around,” Woods said. “I just wasn’t as consistent as I needed to be.”
The timing of course couldn't possibly be better. Looking nearly perfect and ending up unbeatable, the game didn't start out that way. With a chip in and a bogey on the 16th hole Tiger was tied with Jonathan Bird, Furyk and Davis Love, but the four way tie didn't last long.
The very next hole say him rolling it in gently for the lead and the 18th saw him tapping in for his best round since Dubai last year. Byrd appeared to be the only man who could have caught Woods, but he ended up giving it away with a double bogey to tie for third.
Fellow player, with Woods, Michael Letzig, admits that he was treated to a show that he tried not to watch.
“I’ve never seen anyone hit irons like that, “I tried not to watch him, but some of those shots were unreal. I don’t know why everyone talks about how bad he drives it,” Letzig said. “Every drive I saw was perfect.”
